Dear friends and colleagues,
In 1985, the first European Burns Association Congress was held in Groningen, the Netherlands. It is my pleasure to announce, that the 30th anniversary, the 16th European Burns Association Congress 2015, will take place in Hannover, Germany! I am honored to invite all my European colleagues to Hannover, from 16 September to 19 September 2015.
I would like to thank you for having supported our and Germany’s candidacy! It is a great honour for me personally and for the Germany Society for Medical Treatment of Burns (DGV) to host this prestigious and renowned congress.
The conference serves to disperse the most current information in science of burns to experts in European countries. I am looking forward to organize a challenging and interesting program.
We will soon start to make a first agenda for the meeting. We would be most grateful for any suggestions and help and will therefore contact you again.
I hope to welcome you all in Hannover in 2015.
In the name of the DGV,
Univ.-Prof. Dr. med. Peter Vogt
Congress President of the EBA 2015 in Hannover
Dear Sir and Madam,
I am very pleased that the XVI. Conference of the European Burns Association will take place 2015 in Hannover, the state capital of Lower Saxony.
Our state capital, since one can remember, rose historically through the personal union of the Hanoverian royal family with the English crown in a European context and is linked worldwide today as an international exhibition centre. It is, thus, a special sign that this conference of the European Burns association should take place in Hannover.
Burns rank among the worst and the most serious injuries prone to long-term consequences. The terrible consequences which remain for a lifetime, wish to be diminished with impressive modern treatment methods; however, they will never be invisible. The medicinal development in this field can only be moved forward through committed and dedication research with the goal of further developments and improvements as well as a consistent scientific exchange. The European Burns Association, as an association of leading burn specialists, has made it its business to further improve burn treatment through cooperation, scientific exchange, training and distribution of current research results. The conference serves to disperse the most current information in science to experts in European countries.
I wish all the best for this conference as well as rich new insights, which should quickly and effectively help any patients who are affected by severe burns.
Prof. Dr. Johanna Wanka
Minister for Science and Culture, Lower Saxony
